Al-Azhar Condemns Terrorist Attack on Uganda School

Al-Azhar al-Sharif condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that targeted a secondary school in Mpondwe, western Uganda, and resulted in the death of 41 people and the injury of others. Al-Azhar stresses that this heinous crime is clear evidence that the perpetrators lack all meanings of mercy and humanity, not to mention all religious and ethical values. Al-Azhar further affirms that targeting innocent students reveals the strategy adopted by terrorist groups due to lack of intellect and widespread ignorance. In addition, Al-Azhar calls upon the international community to show a sense of solidarity with all countries, particularly African countries, for combating terrorism.
Al-Azhar al-Sharif expresses its sincere condolences to victims’ families and to the leaders and people of Uganda; praying Allah, the Almighty, to protect humanity from all calamities.
