Egypt Strongly Condemns Israeli Aggression Against Palestinians

Today, the Egyptian government condemned, in the strongest terms, the Israeli army aggression on the West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp, which has resulted, so far, in the death of five people and the injury of dozens.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt stressed its total rejection of the repeated Israeli assaults and incursions into Palestinian cities that led to many innocent victims, not to mention the excessive and indiscriminate use of force, and the flagrant violation of the international law and legitimacy, notably international humanitarian law, which imposes clear and definite commitments on Israel as the occupying power.

Furthermore, Egypt warned of the grave dangers of the ongoing Israeli escalations against the Palestinians, which lead to fueling the tensions, exacerbating the sufferings of the Palestinian people, and undermining the efforts made by Egypt and its regional and international partners to reduce tensions in the occupied territories.

Besides, Egypt calls on influential countries and international institutions to intervene to put an end to these violations and to provide protection for the Palestinian people, whose suffering is increasing on a daily basis.
