Al-Azhar Al-Sharif strongly condemns the terror attack which took place in Orlando, Florida, and which resulted in the murder of 50 and the injury of 53 others.
In this connection, Al-Azhar strongly stresses that such awful and barbaric crimes are against the tolerant teachings of Islam, all the heavenly-revealed religions and human customs and traditions, demanding Muslims everywhere to show a good example in manners, kind treatment, co-existence and integration within their societies in such a way that clearly shows greater tolerance of their pure religion that denounces all forms of violence, terrorism and aggression against the other.
Meanwhile, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif expresses worry about exploiting this incident by some politicians to escalate violence against Islam and Muslims for mere political reasons. It, as well, warns against mixing such acts committed by few misguided Muslims with the true teachings of Islam calling for peace, forbearance, and peaceful co-existence. It furthermore points out that the unjust treatment of these incidents will heighten tension, and none will get benefit from that but the evil powers and terrorism, for their misguided ideologies and thoughts will spread here and there.
