Grand Imam Congratulates President Sisi and Muslim Nation on New Hijri Year

His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, expresses sincere congratulations to the Egyptian president Abd El-Fattah Al-Sisi, Egyptian people and all Muslims worldwide on the commencement of the new Hijri year, praying to Allah, the Almighty, for peace, prosperity, and security to prevail around the world.
His Eminence underscores that the Prophet’s emigration has been an inspirational lesson to renew within Muslims the extraordinary qualities exemplified by the Prophet (PBUH). These include the Prophet’s unwavering confidence in his Lord, his good reliance upon Him, enduring hardships for his mission to call humans to Allah. Moreover, this emigration provided a remarkable instance of harmonious coexistence with individuals of different faiths, while advocating for the values of justice, mercy, and tolerance among both Muslims and non-Muslims. Furthermore, the prophet taught Muslims how to adopt the best manners; including forbearance, forgiveness, patience, coexistence, and respect as he himself showed the best example in modesty, generosity, and munificence.
On this auspicious occasion, Al-Azhar calls upon Muslims worldwide to practically interpret the teachings of the Prophet in their daily lives and derive valuable insights from his migration. In addition, Al-Azhar stresses the necessity of following the footsteps of the Prophet and striving for conveying the true religion, praying to Allah, the Almighty, to protect Egypt and the entire world from all calamities and disasters.
