Performing non-spiritual jihad, namely fighting, is not obligatory upon every individual Muslim. Rather, it is the duty of the national army, which acts on behalf of all citizens of the state. Consequently, Muslims, as a community, become exempted from this obligation and shall not be individually held accountable for it on the Day of Judgment.
