First: In relation to the enhancement of the youth's engagement in civil and community work, the Forum recommends the following:
1. The development of training programs for youth to improve their community and leadership skills.
2. The facilitation of youth-led initiatives that address social and economic problems in local communities.
3. The provision of financial and technical support to civil society organizations dedicated to youth empowerment, while simultaneously encouraging these entities to actively involve youth in their community initiatives.
4. The establishment of communication and cooperation networks between civil society organizations and government institutions concerned with youth, such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education, and Al-Azhar University, to foster youth engagement in initiatives and activities at the local, regional, and international levels.
5. “Listen and Talk” forum advocates for the enhancement of collaboration between educational institutions and civil society organizations to devise interactive educational programs aimed at developing critical thinking skills and promoting the concept of active citizenship among youth. This will protect them from extremist ideas and enhance their positive social participation.
6. Youth should verify the authenticity of information and news through relevant official authorities, following the Qur’anic directive, "Ascertain [the truth]…."
Second: Regarding strengthening the role of youth in supporting the Palestinian cause, the Forum recommends:
7- The integration of the Palestinian cause into educational curricula at various levels, focusing on the historical, humanitarian, and legal aspects of the cause, as well as the pivotal role of the Egyptian state, particularly Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in defending it. This will raise awareness among youth of the rights of the Palestinian people, enhance their support for this just cause, and encourage active participation in its advocacy through the digital space.
8- The establishment of a fund dedicated to the support of youth media, as an effective weapon that provides positive and constructive content and addresses societal and humanitarian issues. The aim of this fund would be providing an attractive and reliable platform for youth to express their opinions and creativity, protecting them from the toxins of extremist media, the duplicity exhibited by some global media outlets, and the bias against the establishment of the Palestinian state.
9- The initiation of an extensive digital media campaign, with the participation of youth, aimed at exposing the practices of the Zionist occupation and raising awareness among the international community about the rights of the Palestinian people. The campaign should focus on using methods aligned with digital development to reach the largest possible segment of the global public.
To this end, the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) emphasizes the importance of developing youth skills in using digital media through:
• The organization of workshops and training courses for the youth on digital media skills and countering hate speech and extremist ideology, including content production, digital marketing, and effective communication. In this regard, the Al-Azhar Observatory will soon announce its training agenda, which will serve as an Al-Azhar-based nucleus for training on deconstructing extremist ideology in all its forms, whether in the Arab or Western context.
• The endorsement of youth initiatives that use digital media to combat false news and hate speech. The Observatory welcomes all constructive ideas in this regard.
• The facilitation of platforms for youth to showcase their digital creativity and share their experiences. Therefore, the Observatory announces the launch of the Ihya (Revive) platform to serve as the debut of other platforms for communicating with youth.
In conclusion, the fourth edition of the "Listen and Talk" Forum emphasizes the importance of implementing these recommendations and converting them into tangible outcomes. It calls on all concerned parties and promising youth to join the constructive efforts and work collectively to achieve the desired goals, believing that our youth are the leaders and makers of the future. We welcome all suggestions and initiatives presented to us, especially in preparing for the fifth edition of the forum scheduled for the next year, Allah willing.
