Ambassador of Sweden in Cairo, "Al-Azhar's moderate discourse has contributed to the detection of the falsity of extremist groups."

       During his Meeting with the Grand Imam, the Swedish Ambassador Jan Thesleff praised the high international status enjoyed by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. He also pointed out that the moderate religious discourse provided by Al-Azhar has greatly contributed to uncovering the falsity of extremist groups, and clarifying the reality of conflicts disguised in the name of Islam.
