His Eminence Dr. Muhammad Al-Duwaini, Grand Imam’s Deputy, offered his sincere condolences to the families of the Mansoura train victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured. He also offered his sincere condolences to the family of the victim of treachery and meanness, the late Nabil Habashi, who was killed by terrorist criminals from ISIS, in a really shameful scene. He emphasized that these terrorist groups are stripped of the slightest sense of humanity.
During his speech in the anniversary of founding Al-Azhar Mosque, the Grand Imam’s Deputy explained that Allah Almighty has willed that the light of Al-Azhar Mosque shine throughout Egypt since one thousand and eighty-one Hijri years. Its goodness has since then been spreading out in the east and the west, carrying with it a part of the civilized characteristics of Egypt, inspiring the world with the virtues of giving and generosity, thus rightfully deserving the title "Mother of the World".
The Grand Imam’s Deputy added, “We celebrate today an institution that laid the seeds of goodness hundreds of years ago in the good land of Egypt, which bore fruit. Such fruits are still produced by the permission of its Lord through struggle, upbringing, education, guidance, and advocacy. It carries the torch of guiding the hearts, enlightening the minds, spreading moderation, and defending the correct belief in thought and approach. Thus, it has become a major building block in protecting the children of the nation from falling prey into the clutches of seditions.
Dr. Al-Duwaini confirmed that Al-Azhar was born to blossom in all the aspects of life. It has become a beacon of knowledge and a destination for students. In its corridors the kings and sultans were educated. In its institutes, presidents, ministers, and ambassadors from all over the world graduated. To its scholars the kings and princes approached. From its courtyard, revolutions began, and from his pulpit, all have been directed. Under the leadership of its scholars, and by the participation of its students, the forces of tyranny were broken, and the dreams of the invaders were shattered.
