"The Arabic Language: Past and Present," an Educational Symposium...

"The Arabic Language: Past and Present," an Educational Symposium held by AIRA in Cooperation with Al-Azhar Institutes Sector

     In cooperation with Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, the Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) announces organizing an educational symposium entitled: “The Arabic Language: Past and Present” on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day. This symposium will be held in the presence of His Eminence, Dr. Muhammad Ad-Duwini, Deputy of Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Dr. Muhammad Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hodhud, former president of Al-Azhar University and Dr. Abdel Hamid Madkour, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy. In addition, the symposium will be attended by Dr. Nahla Al-Saedy, Head of the International Student Development Center, Dr. Hassan Al-Saghir, Secretary General of the Council of Senior Scholars, Dr. Elham Shaheen, Assistant Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy for the affairs of female preachers. A number of professors and deans from the University faculties, a number of Al-Azhar male and female preachers, and a number of students from Al-Azhar university and Al-Azhar institutes will also attend.

     “This celebration comes within the interest of Al-Azhar Institution- led by the Grand Imam Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar- in the Arabic language as one of the most important languages ​​spoken worldwide and for its position and importance to the Arabs and Muslims throughout history,” said the AIRA Secretary General, Dr. Nazir Ayyad.

     Ayyad added that the symposium program discusses various themes, the most important of which include the role of Arabic in developing educational performance, the beauty and development of Arabic calligraphy, dictionaries and keeping pace with current age, and the role of Arabic in unifying peoples. The ymposium proceedings will be directed in a dialogical and interactive way to discuss everything related to the Arabic language and its origins in the past and the present.
