Al-Azhar participates in the celebration of the first anniversary of the Human Fraternity Document
A high-level delegation from the leaders of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif participated in the celebration that took place on Tuesday, Feb 4, 2020, in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. The celebration was held in the first anniversary of signing the Human Fraternity Document (HFD). The HFD was signed by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof Aḥmed Aṭ-Ṭayyeb and Pope Francis, Pope of the Vatican, under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Al-Azhar delegation included Sheikh Ṣaliḥ ‛Abbās, Al-Azhar Grand Imam's Deputy, Dr. Muhammad Al-Maḥraṣāwī, President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Naẓīr ‛Ayād, Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Ghanem As-Sa‛īd, Dean of the Faculty of Information at Al-Azhar University, Dr. Nahla Al-Ṣaī‛di, Director of Center of Education Development for Envoys and International Students (CEDEIS), Dr. Elhām Shahīn, Assistant Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, Dr. Reda Amīn, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Information, and Ambassador ‛Abdel Raḥmān Mousa, Responsible Official of the African Relations at Al-Azhar.
The Supreme Committee for Human Fraternity celebrated the first anniversary of signing the Human Fraternity Document, signed in February last year. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh ‛Abdullah bin Zāyed Āl Nahyān, the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as well as a number of the UAE ministers, entrepreneurs of global initiatives affective on the service of humanity, as well as students from UAE universities and schools.
