Pakistani CJCSC: We will send Imams of the Armed Forces to receive training at Al-Azhar

The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, received yesterday, Monday, a high-level Pakistani delegation headed by Lt Gen Nadim Raza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), who is on an official visit to Cairo, at the headquarters of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
Upon receiving the Pakistani delegation, His Eminence the Grand Imam said that Al-Azhar, its Grand Imam, scholars and students welcome chairman CJCSC and his accompanying delegation on the land of Egypt, stressing that Pakistan is a great Islamic country and has great prestige in his heart, since his eminence had spent remarkably good times as a Dean of the Faculty of Usuluddin (Islamic Studies) at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and witnessed the love of the Pakistani people and their strong appreciation for Al-Azhar and all its scholars, which prompts us to make further efforts towards this great country.
The Grand Imam stressed that Al-Azhar does not refrain from supporting Pakistan, its scholars, Imams and students, highlighting that there are 111 male and female students from Pakistan studying at Al-Azhar from kindergarten to university, and that many of Al-Azhar envoys are spreading Da'wah in the Institute of Islamic Sciences in Islamabad.
His eminence affirmed that we can work together to make the International Islamic University in Islamabad a center for spreading the moderate course of Islam and the accurate fatwas throughout Asia, pointing out that the Imam Training Program continuously receives Imams from Pakistan.
The Pakistani chairman CJCSC, on his part, expressed his happiness to meet the Grand Imam, stressing that Pakistan is keen on benefiting from the experience of Al-Azhar in the educational and religious sectors, and that there is significant cooperation between Al-Azhar University and the International Islamic University in Islamabad. He also pointed out that Al-Azhar graduates in Pakistan are highly regarded once they obtain a scientific certificate from Al-Azhar.
The Pakistani chairman CJCSC emphasized that the Imams Training Program organized by Al-Azhar is being viewed with much interest by Pakistan due to its effective influence on Pakistani Imams.
