His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, received, on Sunday 24th November, Her Excellency Celinda Sosa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia.
The Grand Imam welcomed Mrs. Sosa at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and affirmed Al-Azhar's readiness to provide the necessary support to Muslim community in Bolivia as part of its responsibility in supporting Muslims in the issues they face. The Grand Imam emphasized that Al-Azhar is ready to hold channels of dialogue and build bridges of cooperation with the cultural and religious institutions around the world, in a way that can serve the values of fraternity and world peace.
On her part, Mrs. Sosa expressed her happiness to meet the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, and her country’s appreciation for the efforts he makes in promoting the culture of fraternity and coexistence. She concluded that Bolivia is working on enhancing its relations with the Egyptian government through cooperation and coordination, especially in scientific, academic and cultural fields.
