Al-Azhar Grand Imam Receives Malaysian Ambassador to Cairo

     His Eminence, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmad Al-Tayeb, received on 26th November Mohd Tarid Sufian, the Malaysian ambassador to Cairo to follow up on implementing cooperation protocols agreed upon with the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, during his meeting with the Grand Imam earlier this month. 
His Eminence highlighted the historical relations between Al-Azhar and Malaysia, which have greatly developed over the past period through reciprocal visits, commending the vision of Mr. Anwar Ibrahim who seeks to enhance the exchange of expertise among Muslim countries in various fields in a way that serves the progress of our Islamic world.  
On his part, the Malaysian ambassador expressed his pleasure to meet the Grand Imam and his appreciation for his endeavors in supporting Muslim issues around the world, noting that the Malaysian leaders and people value Al-Azhar Al-Sharif as being a beacon of religious knowledge and international association based on moderate Islam. He concluded that Al-Azhar graduates in Malaysia are highly respected and hold the highest leadership positions in Malaysia.
