AOCE’s ‘Towards a Youth-Oriented Vision for Combating Extremism’ Initiative continues its activities

Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) recently organized a lecture as part of its ongoing lecture series aimed at educating students of higher education higher institution about the dangers of extremism and terrorism as well as strategies for protecting themselves from extremist ideologies. This lecture was attended by students from several institutes, namely Higher Institute of Administrative Science in Osim, Higher Institute of Administrative Science in Belbeis and Obour Higher Institute of Management, Computer and Information Systems.

The primary goal of the lecture was to promote the ethical and humanitarian values within society and protecting youth from misleading thoughts that contradict social and Islamic values. Additionally, it aimed at enhancing public awareness and empowering individuals to intellectually protect themselves. During the sessions, lecturers demonstrated that promoting ethics is an integral part of building a civilized society and combating delusive ideologies.

Following the lecture, the students toured the AOCE headquarters to gain further insight into its 13 units and review the latest publications that offer a counter-narrative aimed at dismantling extremism. It is worth noting that this initiative is part of memoranda of understanding between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and several local and international institutions which aim at raising awareness about extremist ideologies and efforts to counter it.
