Loving non-Muslims is an act of disbelief

Loving non-Muslims is an act of disbelief

Misconception:

Loving non-Muslims is an act of disbelief.

Reply:
  • This allegation is completely groundless. The Prophet (PBUH)  loved his uncle Abu Talib. Moreover, the Glorious Qur’an indicates that there may be inner love for non-Muslims as Allah (Glory be to Him) says, “Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided”(Al-Qasas:56).
  • How can those people claim that loving non-Muslims is banned while Allah permitted for Muslims to marry a non-Muslim woman and, necessarily, there shall grow between both of them all kinds of intimacy, affection and mercy?
