AOCE Receives Deputy French Ambassador to Cairo

In an effort to enhance global cooperation against the rising threat of extremist ideology, Dr. Reham Salama, Executive Director of the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE), received Ms. Marilyn Olzac, Deputy Ambassador of France to Cairo, for an overview of AOCE’s endeavors in combating extremist ideologies and presenting its counter-narrative productions.
During the meeting, Dr. Reham Salama gave an in-depth presentation of the Observatory's advanced research methodologies and monitoring mechanisms. She elaborated on how AOCE's researchers systematically monitor extremist content disseminated through digital and traditional media, analyze the discourse of extremist groups in 13 different languages, refute intellectual fallacies, and correct religious misconceptions.
It is worth noting that this visit reflects Al-Azhar's pivotal global commitment to confronting terrorism and extremism, and to building a unified intellectual front against these threats, based on Al-Azhar's belief that combating these phenomena requires an effective international partnership to achieve global security and stability.
