The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar received Sheikh Ibrahim Saleh Al-Hussaini, Mufti of Nigeria.

His eminence the Grand Imam stated that Muslim scholars shoulder a great role in clarifying true Islam and its clear call for fraternity, acquaintance and peace among people, emphasizing that Al-Azhar has great determination on promoting moderation, peace and acceptance of the other as well as correcting misconceptions all over the world, especially in Africa.

His eminence emphasized that Al-Azhar supports the Nigerian people in aspects of education, da’wa and culture, stating that Al-Azhar gives great attention and care for Nigerian students to instill in them the spirit of tolerance and moderation and to demonstrate the greatness of Islam and the sublimity of its message.

On his part, the Mufti of Nigeria emphasized that Al-Azhar is the backbone of the Muslim nation, and expressed his appreciation and pride in the efforts of the Grand Imam in healing the rift and uniting Muslims.

Sheikh Ibrahim Saleh Al-Hussaini emphasized that Nigeria is fortunate to have benefited a great deal of knowledge from Al-Azhar through the da’wa and relief delegations, commending the care and attention given to Nigerian students in this grand institution. The Mufti of Nigeria aspires for further cooperation and coordination between Al-Azhar and Nigeria in promoting coexistence and peace.
