The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar met with Sheikh Ahmad Tijani Ali Cisse, Imam of the Grand Mosque in Kaolack, Senegal, accompanied by the Senegalese Ambassador in Cairo.

His eminence the Grand Imam emphasized that Al-Azhar supports Muslims all over the world in various aspects of da’wa and education, especially Muslims of Senegal, with the aim of promoting the tolerance of Islam and instilling dialogue and moderation. The Grand Imam emphasized that Al-Azhar is ready to train some Senegalese academic scholars, and receive non-Arabic speakers to study Arabic at Al-Azhar.

On his part, Sheikh Tijani expressed his appreciation of the role played by Al-Azhar in promoting the moderation of Islam in Africa and all over the world. Moreover, Sheikh Tijani expressed appreciation of the efforts of the Grand Imam in establishing world peace and commended all that Al-Azhar offers to Senegalese Muslims such as scholarships, which has had an immense impact on the Senegalese people.
