The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar received H.E. Dr. Ali bin Ahmad Al-‘Eissaey, the new ambassador of Sultanate of Oman to Egypt.

His eminence the Grand Imam welcomed H.E. the Omani ambassador at Al-Azhar, and congratulated him for his appointment as ambassador to Egypt, wishing him all the success in his new post.

His eminence the Grand Imam expressed his appreciation of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos for his efforts in supporting Arab solidarity, as well as his role in serving Islam. His eminence emphasized that Al-Azhar, which has strong relations with Sultanate of Oman on the educational and cultural levels, as well as in terms of da’wa, works on establishing the values of peace, strengthening dialogue and deepening understanding and coexistence among the various cultures and peoples.

On his part, H.E. the Omani ambassador expressed his appreciation of the role played by Al-Azhar in establishing the tolerant Islamic principles, and for the efforts of the Grand Imam in establishing the values of peace and acceptance of the other; emphasizing that his visit to Al-Azhar comes as part of expanding relations and furthering cooperation with Al-Azhar, being the stronghold of moderation and tolerance in the world.
