The Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheikh Al-Azhar received Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Ashrafi, Head of Pakistani Scholars Council, and his accompanying delegation.

His eminence stated that the mission and message of scholars is a message of peace and mercy for all mankind, adding that Al-Azhar is ready to train imams from Pakistan as part of the training program that prepares imams on confronting current issues and problems, in addition to establishing a cultural center to teach Arabic under the supervision of Al-Azhar in Pakistan.

On his part, Sheikh Ashrafi stated that his eminence Sheikh Al-Azhar is the imam of ahl al-Sunnah wal Jamaa’a. Moreover, Sheikh Ashrafi stated that the nation is in need of adopting the approach of Al-Azhar to confront the challenges facing it. He also added that the whole nation continuously awaits all that is issued from Al-Azhar, to show the right path and reveal the falseness of extremist groups that exploit the religion of Islam.

The Head of Pakistani Scholars Council commended the global efforts of Al-Azhar and its role in establishing peace, referring to the delegation of peace which headed to Pakistan last year and held several events and activities among various groups of the Pakistani society, namely the youth.
